HI, it seems that cylinder snapping is on the increase- if your cylinder is not fitted flush (with 3 mm or more sticking out from handle) it could be easy access for the criminal with basic tools, you should get it checked out, either get a flush fitting one or even better a snap safe upgrade with anti drill /anti pick hardened pins these can be fitted by keyvolution also you will receive a free security check, hows that for service....

Please be carefull when getting somebody to fit your locks, ask if they have police clearance or to see there CRB form and id, all trained locksmiths should be cleared - dont get caught out and stay safe.

Mortice locks -come in various shapes and sizes here are a few. 5 lever mortice sash lock 5 lever deadlock Both of the above can be british std and fitted to most external doors.
Then you have lower security locks like. 3lever 2 lever These should only be fitted to internal doors if you happen to have one on you main entry door please call for replacement as your insurance may be invalid.
Nightlatchs -generally used in conjunction with above sometimes called yale type, easy to fit but provide less security, can be upgraded to bs 3621 for ins purposes. |
